MOST IMPORTANT FACTS OF 2017 – PART 2


We are back with the second part of the most important events in 2017.


Las Vegas shooting- 1st October
Stephen Paddock opened a fire on the crowd at the Route 91, killing almost 60 people and wounding more than 500. This tragic event made Americans reflect on gun control, since numerous gunfire have been causing many victims especially in the United States.


Fake news
In 2017 you heard of many fake news, didn’t you? Some inquiries tried to stop the phenomenon, but  what we are witnessing is difficult to face. Last year, Facebook announced they had shut down copious fake pages and accounts which had been intruding upon the social network.
Totti’s retirement- 28th May
The living legend said farewell to played football and AS Roma supporters in front of his house at  the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. His goodbye is definitely a loss for every sportsman in the world.


Usain Bolt’s last race- 5th August
The fastest man ever lived on Earth performed for the last time, crowning his magnificent career. Unfortunately, he got injured during the race, but this unforeseen accident will never ruin the Jamaican myth.


Harvey- 17th August / 3rd September
Hurricane Harvey hit America during the last days of summer, destroying whatever it ran into. Texas (especially the area of the city of Houston) and Louisiana were ravaged. Harvey is said to be one of the biggest calamities which has damaged the United States in the last decade.


Massive earthquake in Mexico- 19th September
A 7.1 magnitude tremor hit Mexico City and the surrounding regions, killing more than 250 people.
