ME BEFORE YOU AND ITS CONTROVERSIAL CONTENT

Me Before You
was written by Jojo Moyes in 2012  and it was adapted into a film in 2016.

Me Before You follows a young woman named Louisa Clark, who struggles personally and financially after losing her job at a cafĂ©. She becomes a care assistant to a disabled man, Will Traynor.  He is taciturn and bitter in the wake of becoming injured, while Louisa is fearful and directionless. The two seem to have little in common: Will is wealthy, cultured and angry, while Lou is working-class and friendly. However, their relationship quickly deepens, and as the result, Louisa and Will help one another to explore dark moments in the past and consider the best direction for their futures.

THE POWER OF A PHOTOGRAPH

Hi, everyone! Have you ever heard that a photograph could change the life of a person? Photographs are the most important icons of our life or of our world. They are crystalized copies of the reality. Think about beautiful photographs, like those capturing the best moments of your life or the key moments of our history , such as the photo, “V-J Day in Time Square” by Alfred Eisenstaedt. It immortalized an American seaman  kissing a girl, whom he didn’t know beforehand. It frames the happiness for the end of the second World War. But there are also pictures which immortalized bad moments of our life and our world… The photograph seems like an simple image but it is the passport for the freedom of a child, Mustafa, and his family. Today I’d like to tell you the story of this child and his family and to explain to you how a photograph could change the life of a family.

LET'S DOODLE! THE ART OF CASUAL DRAWING.

"Doodle" is a word that is becoming more and more common in global speech. But what exactly is it? Doodle means scribble. At the beginning of the twentieth century, it took on its current meaning, probably being confused with another English word with a similar sound, namely "dawdle", which means "to waste time".

IMPROVE YOUR SECURITY WITH TEMPMAILS

Imagine that I want to try an online service  but they ask me to use my e-mail address and create an account. I don’t know whether I will like it or not so, why do I need to create an account? Anyhow, I decide to continue, I can’t resist using it, so I type my email address. After 5 minutes, I receive about 3 emails, and at least one every day in the following days. I shouldn’t have made that mistake, I think.

This is only an example but, probably,  everyone receives a lot of spam only by using an online service once, so I decided to help you prevent all that junk!

IT IS NOT TRUE BUT ... I BELIEVE IT

Who has never had a look at his horoscope? Who has never asked what your zodiac sign is? What is your ascendant? Nobody confesses to believe in it but everyone is curious to know about their future, about their health, about love.

At the beginning of each new year on TV or the radio, on newspapers, in the web we are overwhelmed by astrology forecast about how the year that is coming will go for us and it seems that all depends on our zodiac sign: everything is written in the stars…but is it so?

IS A WAR LOOMING UPON US?

These days news about a possible conflict between Russia and Ukraine are being shared by newscasters, but is this true, or is it an exaggeration?

Ukraine has always been a country with many troubles: an oligarchic government, poverty and it has always been shattered, and the last reason is because Russia sent an army in Ukraine.

OTHELLO, FREUD AND FEMICIDE

The murder scene from Act V of Othello contains an act of femicide: Othello kills his wife Desdemona, whom he accuses of being unfaithful. Othello acts under two basic instincts or impulses, called Eros (sexual instinct) and Thanatos (aggressive instinct). According to psychiatrist Sigmund Freud, human beings share these natural instincts with animals but the difference is that humans can (or at least should) control them, letting their “ego” prevail and suppress those instincts. Actually, it’s our subconscious to be exposed to these impulses, but there’s still our ego whose job is to try to calm them down.

FIVE BREAKFASTS FOR FIVE COUNTRIES

We often hear "it takes all sorts to make a world" and it's really true. Today I decided to make a list of how breakfast is eaten in some parts of the world to see how much the differences between countries make each place fascinating.

In my opinion these breakfasts should be tried at least once in a lifetime. These are the first 5 breakfasts I would try!
