SUMMER MAKES PERFECT!

Summer can be the perfect occasion to improve your English! You have more free time and you can use some of it to practise and  improve your English.

These are our plans to improve our English this summer.

"During this summer I'd like to improve my English, but I can't travel abroad, so I'll do it some other way. For example, I'm going to read articles and posts online and to watch videos in English. I'd also like to read books in English. I've never done it but I want to try. "  (Jaco)

STUDY TRIPS: THE BEST WAY TO LEARN ENGLISH & MUCH MORE

Hi guys! Summer is coming and I cannot wait! After a year of hard work and study, we all deserve three months of rest. Three months, in which we can do all the things that we could not do during the school year: sleep all day, go to the cinema or to a concert, go out for a walk, see many TV series on Netflix all day and all night, make a trip. In fact, many of us will surely travel somewhere. Where are you going this summer? To the seaside? Or to the mountains? Will you stay in your country? Or will you go abroad?  In a hotel or in camping site?

DOING THE TRINITY TRIAL EXAMS

             

Today it was just a simulation, but in April and May we’ll have the real Trinity exams. Our examiner, Mr David Field, was really patient and kind so it  was  an exciting experience. We didn’t imagine that to get a certification in English could also be a thrilling experience.

HOW WE LEARN ENGLISH

Hi guys! We all know that English is the international language today, spoken all over the world. It’s essential to learn it and learn it properly. So, since we have to do that, let’s do it with cheerfulness and fun.  What do we do in our classes? For example, we  write posts and create video materials for our blog!

I often have a dictionary at hand, printed or online, to look up new vocabulary. Then, I started reading a great English magazine lately, Speak Up, which includes lots of audio materials. So reading + listening.

How do I study English? I still don’t know! Joking :D When I started high school I wasn’t very good because I didn’t like listening. Then I discovered that if I really wanted to improve I had to listen to more English materials.

If I had to choose between reading/writing or speaking/listening, I would probably choose the first. In my opinion, it is easier to remember rules and words when I write them.

Personally, I love practising English with fun activities like watching movies in English with subtitles, listening to English songs and reading English books or comics. So, that’s what I do.
