2017 Nobel Prize for Physics

Rainer Weiss, Barry C. Barish and Kip S. Thorne have won the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics. The three American scientists are members of the LIGO-Virgo collaboration that discovered gravitational waves in 2015. The price was awarded “for decisive contributions to the LIGO detector and the observation of gravitational waves” , the committee said in a news release.

Hello everyone!  Forgive me if I’m writing about swimming again, can you? Swimming is part of my life,  I practise this sport every season of the year and I’ve been doing it for quite a while now.  This is why, when I’m asked to write about something I’m truly interested in, I can only  think of … swimming!

Hi guys! I’m Nicolo’, in this post today I want to talk about my favourite sport: swimming.

Swimming is an individual sport. Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and individual medley. In addition to these individual sport, Olympic swimmers also take part in relays. Swimmers can compete in open-water events, for example in a sea or lake.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ITALY

Hi friends! We are Francesco and Nicolo’ and today, in this post, we will talk about a very interesting initiative: “I borghi più belli d’Italia”, the most beautiful villages in Italy. This is an association which selects small villages around the Italy, according to their historical and naturalistic interest. It was founded in March 2001 with the aim of preserving and maintaining villages of fabulous heritage. The association holds initiatives such as festivals, exhibitions and other interesting events.

Furthermore, they draw up a list including the most beautiful Italian towns. This is a very competitive contest!

THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE NATURAL WORLD

Hi guys, today we will deal with an important topic which is changing our world: global warming. This phenomenon is creating many problems and troubles to our health and lifestyle, so, to fight it, we must know what global warming means and what it could cause in the future. First of all we must know that the global warming is caused by the extreme CO2 emissions in the atmosphere which are provoking the decrease of the ozone layer, the glacier melting, the deforestation and the climate change.

The monastery of Saint Scholastica is the most ancient benedectine monastery in the world. In particular, we visited the historic library where 20, 000 paper documents and 380 manuscripts,  written one by one by amanuensis,  are kept.

Hi everyone! We are Francesco and Nicolò. Today, in this article we would like to talk about the biodiversity of our geographic area, namely flora and fauna. Moreover, we will introduce some interesting curiosities . 

First of all, we live in Subiaco, a small town not far from Rome where there are a lot of wonderful and suggesting landscapes.

Our area is partly placed in the Regional Park of the Simbruini  Mountains in which there is a remarkable biodiversity formed by many species of animals and plants .
