OZUNA, MY FAVOURITE LATIN ARTIST


Are you a fan of Latin music and reggaeton? If you are, you will love reading my first post. I am a big fan of this kind of music, so I chose to start writing about a famous Latin-American singer, his name is Ozuna.

Who’s Ozuna?
Jan Carlo Ozuna, known as Ozuna, was born on March 13th, 1992 in Puerto Rico. Raised by his grandmother because of the economic conditions of his family, from a small age shows great passion for music dreaming of becoming a singer with a worldwide recognition.
Now at the age of 26, he has a huge success in his musical career, producing songs that quickly become viral in fact, he is considered the best artist with most success in the generation of reggaeton singers.


How did he manage to become famous?
Ozuna began his career in 2012 initially with the name of J OZ, as an independent singer and debuted with his first song "Imaginando" at the age of 20.
In 2014 he signed a record contract and  in 2015 his music made him popular in South America.
In the first few months of 2016, he gained public attention with the single "La Ocasión" in collaboration with Justin Quiles, Juhn, Juanka El Problematik, Anonimus, reaching 866,821 views on YouTube.

His albums
In March 2017 he released his first album "Odisea"In the album he collaborates with various artists such as J Balvin and Nicky Jam and before him there are nine singles: “Dile Que Tú Me Quieres”, “Bebé”, “El Farsante”, “Se Preparó”, “Síguelo Bailando” and “Tu Foto” that with his video exceeds 300 million views on YouTube.
In August 2018, a new album was released, “Aura”.  In the album, he collaborates with various artists such as Cardi B and Romeo Santos and it was anticipated by the singles “Una Vaina Loca”, “Unica” which reaches 234,830,563 views and “La Modelo” with 248,522,787 views on YouTube.

Ozuna in the world and his awards    
After the release of his albums, Ozuna travelled the world on his tours: “Odisea Tour”, “Odisea World Tour” and “Aura Tour”. 
In 2017 he won the “Juventud Prize” award for the best revolutionary artist and the “iHeart Radio Music Awards” award for best Latin artist. 
In 2018 he won two Billboard Latin Music Awards: as Top Latin artist and with the album Odyssey as Top Latin Album. 



Did you know that ...?
1. Ozuna has been a composer since he was 12, but he used to write songs only for his friends back then;
2. Ozuna lived in the United States for 6 years, during which time he worked for 2 years in a restaurant in Washington;
3. Ozuna has various tattoos on his body, for example,  the portrait of his mother in tears, representing all the situations of suffering spent in the course of her life to be where she is, her silhouette in an important concert in Chile, the name of his grandmother "Eneida" who took care of him and a watch that has been tattooed without needles which represents precious time and hard work;  
4. Ozuna is known as "the black with light eyes" in Spanish "El negrito ojos claros"
5. The first artist who collaborated with Ozuna was Guelo Star;
6. Ozuna is married with Tania Meléndez and they have two children: Sofia and Juan Andrès.
