5 CURIOUS FACTS ABOUT BRIAN MAY

Doctor Brian May is the legendary guitarist of Queen, the British Band living a new moment of great popularity thanks to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. 

It must have happened to you all to sing or listen to one of the Queen's songs at least once in your life. The most popular are "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We are the champions", "Show must go on", "We will rock you", "Another one bites the dust". 

Do you know recently, Brian May has published a new song, called “New Horizons”?  He never ceases to surprise us! 

Now, are you ready to discover more about him?  I have 5 curious facts to share with you!

1. Have you noticed I called him Doctor Brian May?   Do you know why? That's because he is not only  a guitarist, he graduated in Astrophysics, and he wrote two books with Patric Moore and Chris Lintotti :  “BANG - The Complete History of the Universe” and “The Cosmic Tourist”.

2. Brian is an animalist activist; he founded in England the non-profit organization Save Me. On September 1, 2012, he was appointed vice president of the RSPCA (Wildlife Society Society) at Wildlife Rocks.

3. He has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

4. An asteroid,  52665, was given Brian May's name for his help to the New Horizons (like the title of his new song) scientific mission.

5. After the death of Freddie Mercury, Queen's  singer and his great friend, he suffered from depression.

A great guitarist, an astrophysicist, a very sensitive human being: Brian May is a great man in all and for all.
