Hi, everyone! There are a lot of campaigns for women’s rights these days and, today,  I’d like to share with you  the recent dress code protests in sport. Have you heard about them?

Everything started with the Norwegian women’s beach handball team and, then, it continued with the German women’s gymnastics team. They protested about the sexist dress code of the International Federations of their sports.

Over the years, the role of First Lady has been filled by a range of personalities. Some of these women stayed in the background, some gave contributions to their husband’s presidency, while others used their position to promote specific issues and start their own revolutions. KATHERINE JOHNSON - THE NASA COMPUTER DIED 101

Katherine Johnson was a NASA mathematician who broke social and racial barriers. She died on the 24^th February at the age of 101. She was an African-American woman who had a key role in many NASA projects. She calculated rocket trajectories and Earth orbits for Nasa's early space missions. Ms Johnson verified the calculations made by new electronic computers before that flight. Ms Johnson had previously calculated the trajectory for the space flight of Alan Shepard, the first American in space. She also played an important role in sending humans to the Moon. She was one of the first women and especially black women to work for NASA.

WOMEN: STRONG SEX OR WEAK SEX??

Throughout history and across cultures, women and girls have faced innumerable challenges and injustice.

The oppression of women throughout history has been real. Patriarchy and male-oriented societies have discriminated women all over the centuries all around the world. Though women have traditionally been oppressed, this does not make them weaker, in fact, as history progresses it makes us stronger and stronger.

We’d like to take a moment to look at 10 women who overcame adversity, broke through barriers and in doing so, changed the world.
