THE POWER OF A PHOTOGRAPH

Hi, everyone! Have you ever heard that a photograph could change the life of a person? Photographs are the most important icons of our life or of our world. They are crystalized copies of the reality. Think about beautiful photographs, like those capturing the best moments of your life or the key moments of our history , such as the photo, “V-J Day in Time Square” by Alfred Eisenstaedt. It immortalized an American seaman  kissing a girl, whom he didn’t know beforehand. It frames the happiness for the end of the second World War. But there are also pictures which immortalized bad moments of our life and our world… The photograph seems like an simple image but it is the passport for the freedom of a child, Mustafa, and his family. Today I’d like to tell you the story of this child and his family and to explain to you how a photograph could change the life of a family.

In this post I want to share with you some beautiful games you could play with your family or your friends other than our typical tombola, the most traditional Christmas’ board game for Italian people.

Hi, everyone! There are a lot of campaigns for women’s rights these days and, today,  I’d like to share with you  the recent dress code protests in sport. Have you heard about them?

Everything started with the Norwegian women’s beach handball team and, then, it continued with the German women’s gymnastics team. They protested about the sexist dress code of the International Federations of their sports.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A FAN OF VAMPIRES TO LOVE TWILIGHT

The Twilight Saga

The first time I heard about it, I was studying at home with a friend of mine, who told me about this saga, Twilight.  I couldn’t wait to see the films so I started asking her questions about it. “You don’t have to be a fan of vampire stories to  like these films”, she said. “The Twilight saga talks about a girl, Bella Swan, who fell in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. From the day she saw him, everything changed”. That was enough, I saw the films and … here I am! I am a huge fan now.

This saga is made up of 5 films: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn part 1 and Breaking Dawn part 2.  My favourite ones are Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2 because Bella is transformed into a vampire by Edward after nearly dying living birth to Renesme, Bella and Edward’s daughter.

Born and bred in LA, she is the daughter of veteran actor and star of  Deliverance, Jon Voight, and actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007.
From a young age Angelina exhibited an eccentric personality and mental instability. Her career has been characterised by dramas in her personal life. She wore a vial of her boyfriend Billy Bob Thorton's blood around her neck, and likes to kiss her own brother on the red carpet. What an odd person!

A SPECIAL MOVIE ON A SPECIAL DAY - TAKE MY EYES (TE DOY MIS OJOS)

Te doy mis ojos was shot in 2003 in Spain. The director is Iciar Bolain. The protagonists are Pilar,  played by Laia Marull, and her violent husband, Antonio aka Luis Tosar.

A CRUCIAL ISSUE

Aggressiveness is the main cause of death and invalidity for women between 15-44. “Take my eyes" is focused on this. Pilar and Antonio are surrounded by people who are involved in their dramatic story. A mother who justifies the situation, a sister who doesn't understand deeply and a son who sees everything and doesn't say anything. Their relationship is a mixture of love, fear, dominance.
