SPIDERMAN, WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog! How are you? I hope everything is going well. I know, this is a very difficult period for us…everyday there's a test and we can't wait for it to end. But  we'll start our Christmas holidays very soon!
Guess what? Yesterday while I was helping my mum tidying up our attic, I found my old console games, and I noticed that they were almost all about Spiderman! So, I'm here today to talk about my childhood hero, aka Peter Parker!

WHO IS PETER PARKER?

Peter Benjamin Parker is a science-whiz orphan living with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May in New York. One day, during a science exhibit he is bitten by a radioactive spider.  Along with heightened athletic abilities, Parker gains the ability to adhere to walls and ceilings. Through his native knack for science, he develops a gadget that lets him fire adhesive webbing of his own design through small, wrist-mounted barrels. Initially seeking to capitalize on his new abilities, Parker creates a costume and, as "Spider-Man", he becomes a television star. However, he blithely ignores the chance to stop a fleeing thief, and his indifference ironically catches up with him when the same criminal later robs and kills his Uncle Ben. Spider-Man tracks and subdues the killer and learns that , in the story's next-to-last caption, “from great powers comes great responsibilities!”. We can say that this is the beginning of the entire story, full of extremely dangerous criminals and typical teenage  problems.

HIS BIGGEST ENEMIES

Spidey's story is full of enemies with incredible stories, starting from a normal person like everyone to a criminal with supernatural powers. The three most important foes are Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Venom. Goblin, aka Norman Osborn, was a successful businessman, owner of “Oscorp industries”, a chemical industry. When he tried on himself the effect of a secret formula, he gained incredible powers and an extraordinary body, increasing his intelligence. Nevertheless, Norman goes mad and starts to abuse of his power with his incredible technologies, and becomes “Green Goblin". Peter will fight with him lots of times, but he finally kills Goblin in one of his most iconic battles .

Doctor Octopus, known as Otto Octavius, was a student with full marks, especially in science. Unfortunately, during his years at school, he was targeted as “teacher’s pet" and bullied, but despite all that,  he started his career as a scientist. During an accidental radiation leak that ended in an explosion, the apparatus that he was using during his experiment became fused to Otto Octavius's body. It was later revealed that the radiation (or possibly his own latent mutation) had mutated his brain so that he could control the movement of his arms using his thoughts alone.
Otto started to use his abilities to become one of the biggest criminals in the story, but spider-man defeated him during his last experiment: to detonate the entire city of New York!

THE MOST ICONIC ENEMY: VENOM

Probably the most iconic enemy of our arachnid-hero, Venom,  is the result of a symbiosis between Eddie Brock, a journalist for the Daily Bugle, and an alien parasite. Eddie and Peter work both for the same journal, and for this reason they are competitors: they hate each other. When this alien parasite, called “symbiote”, gets into Eddie’ body, turns into Venom and starts to use his new alien abilities to take revenge of Peter Parker, after our superhero treated him badly.

During the most iconic battle of the entire story  (there’s no doubt about it), Spiderman accidentally killed both Eddie and the symbiote, making Peter fall into depression. Despite that, after a long period, Spidy returned back to action, in order to defeat all the criminals and bring peace back to the city.
Well, guys, like every month, we're at the end of our post. Spiderman was my favorite Marvel’s hero, and I'll never forget him,  but who’s your favorite superhero? Let me know here with a comment.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my December post, and don’t forget to leave a feedback via comment. See you next month, bye! Happy Holidays!
