Hi guys, today I would like to talk to you about IL COLLEGIO (The college) , a reality show that has been running on Italian TV for 5 years and has become more and more popular. This reality show is focused on the lives of 20 kids who have to live for a month in a boarding school set in the past trying to prepare for eighth grade.
But how does it work?
As soon as they arrive, the students have to take an entry test that will allow them to enter the boarding school or not, then they will go to their respective dormitories where they can get to know each other, but, immediately afterwards, they will have to deliver the prohibited items which are, for example, deodorants or electronic devices.
The following day lessons will begin
with the principal's initial speech, who will explain the rules to be respected
in order to stay in the boarding school.
And, finally, the students will have to have their hair cut in the style
hair used to be cut in the period the show picks up for the season.(This year
the 1970s). After doing all that you
can start with the lessons.
After the first 3/4 weeks, a trip is usually
organized in which the forms of life are mainly studied and where many
experiences are made that at that time were the norm in the place visited. To finish, a week before the exams,
competitions are organized that show which student is the sportiest
How
many seasons have there been?
There have been 6 seasons, set in
1960 1961 1968 1982 1992 1977. The one I liked the most was the second one.
As far as the teachers and supervisors are
concerned, certainly the most loved was Mrs Petolicchio, who is both the principal and one of the
teachers, the only teacher present in all the seasons together with the
overseer.
My favourite adult characters
Mrs Petolicchio
She is the teacher of mathematics and science,
almost certainly the most loved teacher by the students and viewers, but also
the one who was most teased, famous for her screams and for her phrase “out of kindness”
The supervisor
The supervisor is my favourite character and she has many fun tasks including waking up the kids with a bell and always accompanying them to the principal when they do something wrong. Over the years she has always been very strict but fond of some of the kids more than others, and that has been lots of fun, and now when I think of a boarding school I think of her.
My
favourite students
In the several seasons I have had many favourite students, some among the good ones and some among the rebels. Those students will always be remembered in the college by teachers and supervisors.
Jenny de Nucci
She is a girl from the first edition who is
probably one of the most popular ones, since she has become an actress and has
been featured on the covers of some fashion magazines.
In the boarding school she was not a brilliant
student, in fact, she failed her exams,
but surely she was one of the nicest.
Awarded as the best student of the fifth edition, he is certainly one of the most famous boys of Il Collegio, remembered above all for his dressing style, always very elegant for his political spirit and for his really being a boy belonging to past times.
A student of the second season, she is certainly remembered
for being one of the most revolutionary students ever and, above all, for the
constant quarrels with the supervisor, which, unfortunately, led her to
expulsion after 2 days of isolation.
In my opinion this is a cool program but, unfortunately, the real objective of this experience has been lost since the third edition as now many guys go there just to become famous.
