The Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial has recently brought me to give a look at the most famous trials that shocked the world. Here’s five of the most famous ones.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VANS WARPED TOUR?

 

The Warped Tour is considered the modern Woodstock: it was the heaven for all punk-rock lovers. Mainly held in America for 25 years, it was an annual musical festival that became the meeting place for all the punk rock fans coming from any part of the world: it’s also often referred to as the “punk rock summer camp”. 

OTHELLO, FREUD AND FEMICIDE

 

 

The murder scene from Act V of Othello contains an act of femicide: Othello kills his wife Desdemona, whom he accuses of being unfaithful. Othello acts under two basic instincts or impulses, called Eros (sexual instinct) and Thanatos (aggressive instinct). According to psychiatrist Sigmund Freud, human beings share these natural instincts with animals but the difference is that humans can (or at least should) control them, letting their “ego” prevail and suppress those instincts. Actually, it’s our subconscious to be exposed to these impulses, but there’s still our ego whose job is to try to calm them down.

Recently I’ve seen this picture in the Internet and it made me ponder about the role that music has in our lives. Does music really have a healing, therapeutic power?

There are two types of people in the world: the ones who are fond of travelling and exploring new places, and the ones who are terribly afraid of flying. This fear is very common and can be caused by multiple factors. Are you afraid of flying too? Statistics will make you understand that it’s a pointless fear.

But before we begin, it’s important to underline that the numbers provided are related to commercial flight, not to the private flight.

So let’s get into it and see why flying is the safest way to travel.

CHAOS ON THE RUNWAY

 

It is March 27, 1977. PanAm flight 1736 is on its way to Gran Canaria, Spain, from Los Angeles. There are 380 passengers and 16 crew members and the plane is a Boeing 747, the first ever to enter service. The captain of the flight is Victor Grubbs.

Ahead of flight 1736 there is KLM flight 4805 flying from Amsterdam to Gran Canaria. There are 235 people on board. The captain is Jacob van Zanten.

He’s grown up in a false society, full of corruption, conformism and “phonies”, that’s the way he calls hypocritical people. After being expelled from yet another school, he gets even more disappointed and frustrated by the world and by people: the only person he loves is his little sister, Phoebe.

It was something that had never happened before so they weren’t ready at all. Moreover, the training of the astronauts hadn’t started yet and the American engineers didn’t even have the right rocket. After the moon landing an engineer that worked on the mission Apollo 11 proudly said: ”We did the impossible”.
