LITTLE LONDON

Rome continues to offer surprises, even to those who have lived there for many years or are used to visiting it all the time. In fact, few know that the Eternal City also boasts a Little London among its characteristic neighborhoods. This is how one of the most hidden and little celebrated places in the capital is defined. Very often hearing this name does not ring any bell even to the Romans themselves. After all, however, it is part of the great undeniable charm of the city, constantly to be discovered.

There are two types of people in the world: the ones who are fond of travelling and exploring new places, and the ones who are terribly afraid of flying. This fear is very common and can be caused by multiple factors. Are you afraid of flying too? Statistics will make you understand that it’s a pointless fear.

But before we begin, it’s important to underline that the numbers provided are related to commercial flight, not to the private flight.

So let’s get into it and see why flying is the safest way to travel.

WELCOME TO THE EMERALD ISLE: IRELAND

Irish traditions

Irish culture and traditions make us discover that the Irish particularly love their land of origin. So there are numerous festivals that pay homage to their legacy, for example St Patricks Day, Bloomsday, rugby or hurling games all accompanied by celebrations in pubs and with beer.

AROUND THE WORLD IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF SIR FRANCIS DRAKE

Sir Francis Drake was knighted by Queen Elizabeth I for being the second, after Magellan, to complete the world tour.  Francis Drake has always been the champion of great travellers because over the years his story has become myth, starting from the sixteenth century until today.

And today, as a lover of the world and all its beauties, I want to explore the world through 11 Places, 11 photos and 11 captions because there is a question I often ask myself: where would I go if I had to travel the world in 11 stages?

ITALY; THE BEL PAESE

We can’t travel these days, we can’t even go out of our homes. What about a virtual journey throughout our wonderful country?

We Italians sometimes forget it, but if Italy is called “Bel Paese” there is a reason! Already in ancient years Italy gained a place of honour among the most beautiful countries in the world. In fact, the beauties of Italy are renowned everywhere and visitors come from all over the world. From North to South of the boot, each Italian region offers historical monuments, panoramic views and unique villages where time seems to have stopped.
But what is the most beautiful city of all?Rome or Venice? Palermo or Naples?  Italy is the country with the largest number of unique cities which makes choosing the most beautiful very hard. Here are the most beautiful cities, in my opinion.

About 90 million of people parteciped in the competition. The list of  wonders isn’t approved by UNESCO but the competition was successful and in 2004 NOWC got results and in 2007 the list was completed.
What are the seven world wonders?

EGYPT FROM MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

MEMORIES FROM MY CHILDHOOD

When I was seven years old my family and I went to Egypt!  Incredibly enough, I have  very cool memories of it!
I remember, while we were going to St. Catherine's monastery.  I saw the desert and I was amazed.  I especially love this memory because I still remember the many different colours of the sand: black, red, blue, green and brown. I would have never expected the sand to have so many shades and colours.

BENNY, MY AMERICAN DREAM CAME TRUE!

Going to the USA has always been one of my dreams and it was so exciting for me when it became  true. I was in New York City for a week from the 20th to the 28th of February. It was such an amazing experience because I didn’t go there just as a tourist but wearing the dresses of a UN delegate! If you want to know more about my journey,  continue reading this post!

BEING A DELEGATE

As I said, I went to NYC and I was one of the young delegates that took part in the United Nations conferences.
Of course,  it was just a simulation, but it was organized as real UN conferences. There were people from Italy, USA, France and other countries.
During these simulations you have to speak in English in order to talk and debate with the other delegates, you have to wear a formal dress and you feel like a real delegate. Each one represents a nation and has to show the position of his/her own country. During the conference I met a lot of people and we were inside the UN headquarters.

THE UN

As you know - well, I hope you know - the United Nations is an international organization that was born in 1945, after the 2ndWorld War, which has the aim  of maintaining peace, protecting natural and historical places and buildings, guaranteeing that all the people have the same rights, guarantee security  and so on. In my opinion this is one of the best “things” men have created.
I am very interested in what the UN did and does to help people. Of course, its goals are huge and difficult to achieve. There is also something that doesn’t work properly, even in the UN,  or there are things the  UN could do but don’t, but I can assure you that the UN have done and currently do a lot to achieve its aims, despite some hurdles.

BARCELONA...THINGS TO KNOW

Hello guys! I’m back to tell you about some curiosities... Let’s start from the first point:

GAUDì’S ART

In the “Sagrada Familia” the use of organic forms reflects the forms Gaudì found in nature. He used to say that there is no better structure than the trunk of a tree or a human skeleton.
