THE 10 FASTEST CARS IN THE WORLD

Once there were few cars capable of exceeding 400 km/h, but this is no longer the case. So let’s see which are the 10 fastest cars in the world. They all axceed abundantly 300 km/h and, at the same time, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about three seconds. What is it to build such powerful cars and to enter the 10 fastest in the world? It  is first of all power and then the aerodynamics, both to penetrate the air and to prevent the car from tacking off. It may seem paradoxical, but the speeds involved are higher than many small planes. Returning to my ranking, I lined up the cars (from the least to the fastest) checking that they are currently in production and that they are approved for road use.

10- Bugatti Veyron

In 2005 Bugatti went back on track with the heir of EB110, the Veyron. The car, which bears the name of one of the most expensive drivers in the history of the brand (Pierre Veyron), is powered by a W16 8.0 L capable of 1001 hp, which unloads power on all four wheels. The circuit is the same on which F1 has achieved the previous record, but this time Bugatti has in mind to overcome the 400 km/h wall and manages it with a peak of 407 km/h. F1 can say goodbye to its record, but to tell the truth, it was previously undermined 2 months earlier by the Koenigsegg CCR, which in Nardò with Loris Bicocchi stopped at 387 km/h.

9- Keating TKR

The Keating TKR  is a British sport car by Keating Supercars. It uses parts from the Saleen S7 and the Pagani Zonda. The TKR features a twin turbo-charged 7.0L V8 petrol engine derived from the General Motors LS (LS7) series developing 2,002 hp (1,493 kW). According to Keating, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 2 seconds.
The TKR has been recorded travelling at 419 km/h (260 mph) at the El Mirage Lake, California. In 2010 the TKR was set to be the car of choice to break the blind land speed record. Unfortunately, the car crashed on a test run and was unable to break this record.

8- Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Supersport for sale has a maximum speed of 415 km/h, but it actually has reached a maximum speed of 431 km/h with a maximum peak of 434 km/h. This record of the maximum speed has been certified by the TUV (German technical certification body), but due to tire problems the car on sale has maximum speed limited to 415 km/h.

7- Hennessey Venom GT

The Hennessey Venom GT is a high performance sports car manufactured by Texas-based Hennessey Performance Enginnering. The Venom GT is based on the Lotus Elise.
On January 21st, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinnes World Record for the fastest road legal car from 0 to 186 mph (0 to 300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0 to 200 mph (0 to 322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating road legal car in the world.
On March 25th, 2016 the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder recorded a top speed of 265.57 mph (427.4 km/h) at California's Naval Air Station Lemoore, celebrating Hennessey's 25th anniversary. As with previous speed tests, the run was independently verified by Racelogic as World Fastest road legal open-top sports car. In May, 2016, the Hennessey Team revealed that the car was about 300 hp (224 kW) down on power due to issues with one of the car's three high capacity fuel pumps.

6- Koenigsegg Agera R

5 liters, V8, fueled by means of green petrol or bio-fuel, the new Scandinavian coupe delivers the beauty of 1115 hp and makes the scale score just 1330 kg dry.
Frightening numbers, which allow the Agera R to have significant acceleration and maximum speed about 440 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds.

5- Koenigsegg Agera RS

The Koenigsegg Agera RS has reached 447 km/h. The Koenigsegg with this model tried to reach the Bugatti Chiron and succeded in it, because the Koenigsegg beat the Bugatti in acceleration. In fact the Koenigsegg goes from 0 to 400 km/h in 36.44 seconds, while the Bugatti goes 0 to 400 km/h in 41.96 seconds. But even the Bugatti manages to beat the Koenigsegg at speed, in fact the maximum speed of the Bugatti is 490 km/h while Koenigsegg’s one is 447 km/h.

4- Koenigsegg One:1

The One:1 was introduced in 2014. Seven examples, including one prototype, were built during 2014 and 2015. This was one of the most exclusive production car programs ever envisaged in the car industry. Unique track-optimized aero winglets, extended venturi tunnels and side splitters, Le-Mans inspired active wing configuration and optimized active under trim air management. The Koenigsegg One:1 succeded in beating her predecessor (Koenigsegg Agera S) because it managed to reach 400 km/h in 20 seconds. Its maximum speed is 450 km/h.

3- Hennessey Venom F5

The Hennessey Venom F5 is an upcoming high-performance sport car manufactured by the newly founded American vehicle-manufacturing company Hennessey Special Vehicles. The chassis and body will be made almost entirely of carbon fiber. Active aerodynamics are now paired with the body, a first for Hennessey. The top speed is claimed to be 484 km/h (301 mph) through a V-MAX speed-tracking system. Hennessey predicts that the car will accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h (0 to 186 mph) in less than 10 seconds and from 0 to 400 km/h (0 to 249 mph) in about 20 seconds.

2- Bugatti Chiron

The Chiron is the fastest, most powerful, and exclusive production super sports car in Bugatti ’s history. Its sophisticated design, innovative technology, and iconic, performance-oriented form make it a unique masterpiece of art, form and technique, that pushes boundaries beyond imagination. The heart of the Chiron is its quad-turbocharged 8 l W16 engine. This unique masterpiece generates an incredible 1,500 hp, which allows the car to touch 490 km/h.

1- Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has been unveiled. It is the fastest Koenigsegg ever made and the company will never endeavor to make a faster series-production road car – ever. Customers will be able to choose between the Jesko Absolut and the more track-oriented Jesko version that was presented a year ago. Both the Jesko (track-oriented version) and the Jesko Absolut (high-speed version) will be powered by a 1280 bhp (1600 bhp on E85), twin turbo charged V8 engine, featuring the world’s lightest V8 crankshaft that weighs just 12.5 kg. Whit this car the Koenigsegg manages to beat another Bugatti’s record, in fact the maximum speed this car can reach is 510 km/h while the maximum speed the Bugatti Chiron can reach is 490 km/h.
