MAX VERSTAPPEN VS CHARLES LECLERC: THE NEW ERA OF FORMULA1

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen  are intended to become two of the best drivers F1 has ever had. Since last season their great rivalry has been entertaining fans all over the world. Let’s discover more about them!

 Max Verstappen is the son of a F1 driver, Jos Verstappen, so he has speed in his blood. He started his career in the kart world championship proving  immediately to have a great talent. At the age of 17 he debuted with Red Bull’s  second team but in the next year he was promoted to the first team and in his first race   he won the Spanish Grand Prix (youngest winner ever).

In the first years of his career he was very aggressive and had many retires but in the years he has matured a lot, he has collected 9 wins, one pole position and 40 podiums. He's only 23!

 

                   

Charles Leclerc also started his career in the kart championship but he isn't as early as Max Verstappen beacause he ran in all minor categories, winning all championships as a rookie, he debuted in formula1 with  the Alfa Romeo team in 2018,  but the following year he moved to the most famous team of the circus, Ferrari. In his first year with Ferrari he had 2 wins, 7 pole position and 10 podiums. Leclerc is a very mature driver even though he's only 23, but he can also be very aggressive and capable of spectacular overtakes.

These two guys have known each other since the time of their  kart races,  when they already challenged each other.

They met again  in F1 in 2018. In the following year,  with cars at the same level,  they had fantastic battles,  for example in Austria, where Verstappen overtook  Leclerc with three laps to go, or in Silverstone.

In 2019 the Dutch driver beat the Ferrari's Monegasque in the Driver Championship for very  few points. The 2020 season promised to be a great year for both of them but Ferrari's car is so slow and not at the same level as Red Bull or Mercedes. So Leclerc can't fight with Verstappen for the title, but Verstappen himself can't fight because Mercedes, and especially Lewis Hamilton, is too strong. But the Dutch was capable to win a race with an excellent tyre management. On the rare occasions they can fight each other they have fantastic duels.

                                              

These two drivers are the future of Formula 1 but, at the moment,  they haven't  got a car which allows them to fight for the title. Their rivalry can become one of the greatest in F1 history  like Prost and Senna's one and everybody is sure these two will entertain us for long,  long time.
