SPACEX MARS PROGRAM

Hi everyone, have you ever heard about Elon Musk or SpaceX  Mars program?  He is one of the brightest minds of the 21st century. Read and discover more about him.

SpaceX Mars program is a project initiated by Elon Musk and SpaceX to facilitate the eventual colonization of Mars. SpaceX's goal is to land the first humans on Mars by 2024, but in October 2020 Elon Musk named 2024 as goal for an uncrewed mission. He said that he is highly confident that the first crewed flights to Mars will happen in 2026. A key element of the program will certainly be the SpaceX Starship which, after landing on Mars, the spacecraft would be loaded with locally-produced propellants to return to Earth. N.A.S.A. is also doing several tests to see if a person could stay on a bed for 70 days, exactly Mars ‘trip duration.

Elon Musk is one of the brightest minds of the 21st century and his business projects demonstrate his vision for the future. Already at a young age Elon was interested in technology, at 10, he developed his first program and at 12, he sold his first videogame. In 1989, he arrived in Canada and began to study at Queen University, then completed his studies in the United States and graduated in Physics and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.

It was not a new project; it has existed since 2001, when Musk conceptualized "Mars Oasis", a project to land a miniature experimental greenhouse containing seeds on Mars to grow plants on Martian soil. In 2007, Elon Musk stated a personal goal of eventually enabling human exploration and settlement of Mars and only in 2014; he started thinking about Mars Colonization. The extensive development and manufacture of much of the space transport technology has been through 2016, and SpaceX funded it. Actually, Musk’s goals are to make Mars a self-sufficient colony, and then he will invite on “his” planet actors, companies, or governments  to facilitate the growth of the human presence on Mars over many decades.

Elon Musk chose to go to Mars because he wants to save humanity, from a possible cataclysm, asteroid or killer robots. He also explained his plan, which consists in surviving on Mars, making an artificial atmosphere with Earth’s pressure and oxygen, and then he will use that to generate lakes, rivers and oceans. The price of a ticket to Mars will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, with no guarantee of return or even survival during the trip or on the planet, but Musk is sure that it will be a huge investment for  human beings’ safety in the future.

By the way, going to Mars is not the only Musk’s extraordinary project. Discover what else he invented or worked on in Edoardo’s post here on Let’s Blog! (CLICK HERE)
