SMARTPHONES, SMART ... OWNERS?

Smartphones are surely one of the biggest inventions of the past few years… Everyone has one, and can’t live without it. In the beginning, the phones were big and uncomfortable and you could only use them to make calls but, with time, they became smaller and smaller and with many more functionalities.
Now with the arrival of smartphones they’ve become so big but still comfortable, they have very advanced functions and we can say they are “mini-pc”. Certainly, smartphones make life easier,  but like everything else,  they have their downsides and we are going to talk about some of them…

A smartphone is an evolution of a normal mobile phone with computing power, memory and connection much more advanced based on the Android Operating System, or iOS. There are many advantages and disadvantages in having a smartphone today. Especially among teenagers, we can see all of them. First of all, a smartphone allows you to feel closer to friends. Thanks to smartphones,  many people can easily communicate with different apps, such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and so on at any time of the day. This way, for example, parents can always know where their children are.
Another advantage of having a smartphone is that it is easier to organize daily activities and to do researches for school projects or for University (teachers know it!).
Moreover, you can organize and send emails directly from your device and you can use free messaging services. Smartphones also have GPS systems that you can use to know road routes. Finally, you can take high–resolution photos with your smartphones' cameras.

On the other hand, the main disadvantage is that many people become addicted of them. Lots of people, in fact, feel the need to check every five minutes if there are new messages. They often surf the Internet without a real purpose. This is a compulsive disorder and it can lead to alienation from reality. Many of them, because of this bad use of their smartphones, even neglect relationships with family and friends. Smartphones can generate negative feelings such as anxiety, anguish and worries. These problems can be solved by returning to traditional habits. It is necessary to make an effort to try to use a normal alarm-clock to wake up, or check the time with a watch or listen to music with an MP3 player. Lastly, there are also many health risks that result from an excessive use of smartphones.

So, the main theme is that teenagers, like us, shouldn’t spend too much time on these devices in order to have a normal life and avoid all the sickness that brings to an impulsive use of mobile phones.
We should rather go out in the evening (if we don't have finish our homework), hang out with our friends, go for a walk or play football in the streets than waste our time on them without an actual purpose.
We’re  young people and we can be smarter than our phones! So guys, let's avoid becoming addicted to them! For instance, how much time do you spend on your mobile phones? Let us know in a comment!

See you next month! Bye!!!
