Hi everyone! Today my post is about one of the best - known and acclaimed pop-stars in the world, who has sold more than 45 million albums and 150 million singles: Ed Sheeran.

5. GIVE ME LOVE

This song dates back to six years ago and is about necessary love,  which one cannot live without. In the lyrics Ed tells us that love has no limits and that it’s one of the few things that makes us complete. He makes us aware of the fact that love is a beautiful thing that can save us. In the video there’s a disappointed and wounded girl who turns into an angel of love, who with her arrows hits people and makes them fall in love. Love can save us but sometimes it can also hurts us.

Edward Christopher Sheeran is the most-selling male pop star in the world. He has sold more than 38 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide. Two of his albums are in the list of the best-selling albums in UK chart history: x(at number 20) and ÷(at number 34).

His album ÷ (Divide) sold over 400,000 in just three days, it sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

In this post we’re going to write about  some of Ed's most famous songs.

I have to admit Ed Sheeran is the only singer who has never disappointed me. He is able to convey something new in every song. I never get tired of him. It may be for his wonderful voice, his simplicity and the spontaneity I feel when he just sings a note.

Now he is the biggest selling male pop star in the world and his album DIVIDE sold over 400,000 in just three days.

He turned 26 just a few days ago (17th February) and celebrated it gifting his fans with a new wonderful ballad: How Would You Feel. Our staff particularly love Ed Sheeran,  this is why you can find a few posts dedicated to him on Let's Blog: we sang one of his songs at school  or we celebrated the release of his latest new songs.

ED SHEERAN IS BACK!

  

After a break lasted more than a year Ed Sheeran's back with two new songs. More than a year ago the singer decided to take a break and not to post anything for a while (a tragedy for his fans)

“Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything I missed. To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing”

Ed Sheeran wrote before getting rid of his iPhone and getting a Nokia 3310. But now he is back!He posted a  video where he said that on 6th January  he was going to release new music probably from his new album. So here we are!  6 January is today!!!

THE A-TEAM VIDEO INSPIRED OUR STORIES

Our English teacher sometimes gives us music videos to watch and work on as an assignment. We loved this song,  so when we were asked to write the story of the  girl in the video, we were touched and inspired. These are some of our stories based on The A-team by Ed Sheeran.

Hi I’m Effy and I died last  night.

My wrong decisions have led me to this, it’s all my fault. I didn’t want to die so young. I don’t wish anyone to live my life. This is my story.

My life has never been easy. I was born in a poor family.  My father died when I was a child. My stepfather worked in a factory and my mother … a shop assistant. My stepfather had drinking issues. When he came back home drunk he abused my mother. Every night I was afraid for my mother’s life. He never touched me, with me he was kind. In the meantime, I was trying to be a good daughter. I was good at school, I also won a scholarship. My dream was to become an architect and go to live with my mom in a house by the sea. But one night my worst nightmare became true. My father Killed my mother.

SINGING ED SHEERAN AT SCHOOL

We like Ed Sheeran because with his scruffy hair and hoodies he looks more like the boy next door than a pop star. But the singer who has written songs since the age of 13 is actually a global star! His latest album "X" has been number one in 65 countries and he has just finished a hugely successful  tour all over the world.  Everybody loves Ed among us at Let's Blog, even our teacher! So we decided to stay on at school after lessons and sing her favourite song for her: Photograph.  She enjoyed it and we hope you'll enjoy it too! Here we are in a video (thanks Alex P.!)
