THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ITALY

Hi friends! We are Francesco and Nicolo’ and today, in this post, we will talk about a very interesting initiative: “I borghi più belli d’Italia”, the most beautiful villages in Italy. This is an association which selects small villages around the Italy, according to their historical and naturalistic interest. It was founded in March 2001 with the aim of preserving and maintaining villages of fabulous heritage. The association holds initiatives such as festivals, exhibitions and other interesting events.

Furthermore, they draw up a list including the most beautiful Italian towns. This is a very competitive contest!

NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND

It is a weekend festival held every February during the middle of the NBA regular season. During this weekend there are many basketball events, exhibitions and performances.

The most important event is the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night.

Tonight is the night! The best actors and actresses in the world wear glamour clothes, they parade on the red carpet and they live an unforgettable night. This year the Oscars’ night is on 26 th February in the Dolby Theatre of Los Angeles. The presenter of the evening will be Jimmy Kimmel, on his first show at the Oscars.

THE HIDDEN GENIUS OF RORSCHACH'S MASK

Oscar Wilde once said: "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell the truth."

Masks are all common in superhero comics and they represent a paradox by concealing an identity yet revealing another.

For example when Bruce Wayne puts on his mask it both hide his identity and transforms him into the Batman, we can say that masks have a certain power about them and no comics book represent it better in my opinion than watchmen, with the use of the character Rorschach.

A HERO OF MUSIC: ED SHEERAN

He turned 26 just a few days ago (17th February) and celebrated it gifting his fans with a new wonderful ballad: How Would You Feel. Our staff particularly love Ed Sheeran,  this is why you can find a few posts dedicated to him on Let's Blog: we sang one of his songs at school  or we celebrated the release of his latest new songs.

REMEMBERING HARPER LEE

A year ago Harper Lee left us, and today I want to remember her discussing her most famous novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird". 

Nelle Harper Lee was born in 1926 in the state of Alabama, in the Deep South.  Her father was a lawyer , instead her mother died in 1951. She was a close friend of  Truman  Capote, the writer who  inspired  her to create the character of Dill in “ To Kill a Mockingbird”.

Since she was a teenager she had loved literature and for that reason , in the 1948 she  moved to New York to become a writer. There she met her old friend Truman Capote again and he encouraged her to write her first novel.  So Harper Lee started writing  “ To Kill a Mokingbird”, and  in 1960 it was published. She didn’t expect  that book  would make her famous all over the world.

“To Kill a Mokingbird” is set in the 1930s and the main character  is a  child named Jean-Louise, whom everyone calls Scout.  She lives in Maycomb , a town in the state of Alabama, with her  father Atticus , a lawyer, and  her older brother Jem. During the summer  the two  children

De Sica is an Italian actor, director and scriptwriter. He was born on 5th January 1951 in Rome, Italy. His father, Vittorio, was an important director so he decided to follow him in the world of the cinema. De Sica developed his own style of comedy and entertainment in Rai television shows. ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND

Everyone knows Alice but not everybody knows how Alice was created or much about the writer of the book. Charles Dodgson better known as Lewis Carroll was born in Cheshire in 1832. He was an English writer, logician, mathematician and photographer. When he was eleven his family moved to Yorkshire, where he stayed for 25 years. Since he was a child he showed an open mind. He was very intelligent and when he was seven, he read an allegorical religious novel called “ The Pilgrim’s Progress”. He suffered from stuttering and that caused him many problems to socialize. For everything we take from the Earth, there is a consequence. Perhaps pollution is a symptom of nature's imbalance. Some people take from the Earth, but countless others become sick, displaced or harmed due to the resulting pollution — affecting wildlife and more. 

DOING THE TRINITY TRIAL EXAMS

             

Today it was just a simulation, but in April and May we’ll have the real Trinity exams. Our examiner, Mr David Field, was really patient and kind so it  was  an exciting experience. We didn’t imagine that to get a certification in English could also be a thrilling experience.

Hi friends! Today I am going to tell you the story of a real phenomenon: Lionel Messi! In my opinion Messi is the strongest footballer in the world and he is even stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo.

James Eugene "Jim" Carrey was born in 1962 on January 17, he is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. He is known for his highly energetic slapstick performances. He is very important not only because he is amusing but also because he is one of the most famous comic actors in the world!

Hi guys! We are Francesco and Nicolo’ and, in this post, we are going to talk about a very interesting topic. In 2008, the Seven Natural Wonders (an American association) put together a list of ecological beauties. Most people call these the “Seven Wonders of the Natural World”.

First of all, let’s examine in depth what the role of “Seven Natural Wonders” project is. It’s an organization created to protect and promote the natural wonders of the world, having established to defend the original being of the seven natural wonders. The wonders’ list includes:

WINTER SPORTS

With the coming of the cold and the snow we have decided to write a post about winter sports. Traditionally these sports are played in cold areas (Alpine countries, North America, Japan and North Europe) during winter, but sometimes if there isn’t snow and ice, they are played on artificial snow and artificial ice. So, thanks to technology many countries can host the winter Olympic Games and other competitions.

DISNEY CARTOON ( PART I)

Hi guys! We are Camilla and Francesca and we decided to leave apart  nature and environment for once. We’ll be back soon with a new article but this time we’d like to talk Disney cartoons. We love them!

We have loved them since we were little children but  as you know they are loved both by children  and adults.
