Paris, the capital of France, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and important cities in the world, where there are many monuments and experiences to do. Since I’m soon going there I’d like to share with you what the most interesting things to do and the most beautiful places to visit are. Paris is visited by around 11 million tourists a year and tourism is its main economic source. It is also known for being the city of fashion and love, which attracts most of the tourists.
THE TRIUMPHAL ARCH
This is the largest arch in the world recently
restored, 50 meters high and undoubtedly one of the most loved and visited
monuments in Paris, 1.5 million people every year visit it. It is one of the wonders of the world and was
built by Napoleon Bonaparte between 1806-1836.
THE LOUVRE
Another essential stop if you ever visit Paris
is undoubtedly the Louvre, one of the most important and most visited museums
in the world. About 9.6 million people
come to Paris every year just to visit it.
This museum takes its name from the fortress that houses it, originally
built around the end of the 12th century.
Among the most important works on display we
find the Mona Lisa, which is one of the fundamental reasons why this museum is
visited.
NOTRE DAME
Another landmark of Paris is the Notre Dame Cathedral,
dating back to the twelfth century. Unfortunately after 2019 great fire, it was
closed to the public, and it is still not possible to visit it today because
the rebuilding is still in progress.
SAILING THE SEINE
Changing genre a bit, one of the most entartaining things you can do in Paris is a ride on the Seine. Usually there are special boats that for a few euros allow you to tour all Paris on the Seine. It is a truly unique experience.
EIFFEL TOWER
As the last stop of our tour in Paris, a visit to the Eiffel Tower cannot be missed. This tower is the most famous monument in Paris, it was finished in 1889 on occasion of the universal exhibition. It is about 300 meters high and is made of iron.
About 7 million people come to Paris to see
it, and perhaps one of the reasons that pushes them to do so is because at
night the entire structure lights up and it is also possible to climb to the
top and admire the landscape.
My short guide ends here. I hope I’ll have a good time in Paris and that you enjoyed reading my post. Best wishes, everyone!
