It was a long wait but the wish of millions of BlackPanther fans, who have been asking for a sequel since 2018 , has now come true! Marvel Studios, which created this superhero in 2018, has recently released the new episode of the award-winning saga: Wakanda Forever!
After
the premature death of Chadwick Boseman, the charismatic King T'Challa/Black
Panther in 2018 three-Oscar film who died from colon cancer at only 43 in 2020,
Ryan Coogler and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige discussed whether or not
to go ahead with the story of the superhero monarch who fights
to save his technologically advanced world from enemies who wanted to go back to a primitive
society.
The filmmakers had to
rethink how a sequel would work without his main character, T’Challa. They said “ There’s only
one Chadwick and he’s not with
us. Our king, unfortunately,
has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking time to see how
we continue the story and what we do to honor this chapter of what has happened
to us that was so unexpected, so painful, so terrible, really.” Marvel Studios to honour and
respect Chadwick ‘s legacy will not recast the character, but they decided to explore the world of Wakanda’s characters
introduced in the first film.
Lupita Nyong’o, who played Nakia in
the first film and will
reprise the role in the new film, declared “It’s
gonna be different, of course, without our king, to go back into that world, but I know that
all of us are dedicated to reimagining or carrying on his legacy in this new Black Panther and Ryan Coogler has some really, really
exciting ideas that I look forward to bringing to life with the rest of the family."
“After the shock
of Chadwick’s disappearance, we wondered what to do”, Feige explained in the international press
conference streaming with the cast and director. Ryan put all of himself into
the project. He had been working for a year on a script that featured T'Challa so
when Chad left us, he decided to turn Black Panther into a celebration of him
and Wakanda.

Rhianna tribute to Chadwick Boseman
The release of the movie, in
which the role of women is very important,
marks also a pleasant and surprising return to music of Rihanna. She has
been away for 6 years from the music world to deal with make up and fashion. Now on the occasion of the release of the new
Marvel film and to honour t he life and
career of Chadwick Boseman, she decided
to return to singing. “Lift me up”is an
emotional ballad written in tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman.
"Lift Me Up" is Rihanna's first new song since her 2016 album
"Anti". In this
celebrative song - written by Rihanna
herself with singer Tems, director Ryan Coogler and the composer of the film
soundtrack Ludwig Goransson - sorrow, comfort and hope mix together. It is an invocation
not to be abandoned, to be close to
people you love much, to remain safe and
sound, to be enveloped by the warmth of
their love, even when they are not there physically. It is a prayer of love,
expressing the human need
to feel safe, especially in this
world so full of dangers such as war or disease. The music video is directed by
Autumn Durald Arkapaw and features
scenes with Rihanna on the beach while a bonfire burns nearby, with some sequences
from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
