CHRISTMAS IS BACK!

I love Christmas atmosphere with its colours, its lights, its decorations, its cakes, the presents, its songs playing all around.

There are a lot of traditions and events which are related to Christmas: the Christmas tree, the Native scene, the advent and the Christmas Market, one of my favourite.

Do you know that the first traditional Christmas markets date back to the 14th century in Germany and Alsace and then spread along the Alps, including Italy?

The most known market in Italy

If you want to see and visit one of the most authentic and typical markets in Italy , you must go and discover the  Christmas markets of South Tyrol that from November to January embellish the streets and squares of Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, Brunico and Vipiteno. These are the ideal places where you can immerse yourself in an exciting atmosphere made of colours, perfumes and tastes that warm anyone's heart. Here you can taste the  classic  Strudel or “Zelten”,  the typical Christmas cake with dried fruits or drink  a hot  glass of Vin Brulé or eat the tasteful  Speck and cheese sandwiches. In addition,  you can find a lot of  handcraft unique creations to decorate your home.

Staying in North Italy you can’t miss the Fiera degli Oh Bej! Oh Bej”. The traditional markets for St. Ambrose's Day, in Milan , which some believe to date back to the year 1288, are held from December 5th to 8th in front of the Sforza Castle. The Christmas season in Milan  has a schedule  rich of events and, in particular,  two historic:  the Scala Opening Night,  on the night of December 7th, and the Christmas concert in the Cathedral, free and open to everyone, on the evening of December 20th.

Moving to the South of Italy we must absolutely visit the  most traditional markets of Nativity scene art in Naples, which  dates back to the late 1700s and has remained unchanged over the centuries: from early November to January 6th, the well-known Nativity scene craftsmen’s workshops in Via San Gregorio Armeno  show their statues,  very original and always contemporary, often related to the current social and political situations. This year, for example,  you can find statues of  the Magi with a Green Pass.

Finally you can’t miss to visit Rome  with its beautiful monuments, Piazza Venezia Christmas tree and “the Presepio” in Piazza San Pietro, this year from Peru,   and the Christmas World held in  in the Auditorium Parco della musica, where it will be possible to live a fantastic Christmas experience walking from Berlin to Paris, skating on the ice track  of Rockefeller Center in New York  and visiting Father Christmas’s  house  in Lapponia , everything  in  one day!

Moreover,  thanks to a format created by Lux Eventi s.r.l., the children can make a lot of playful  workshops where they can learn the importance of recycling through the five Rs: Reuse, Recycle, Reduction, Collection and Recovery

Have a nice Christmas time, everyone!
