THE RED CARPET OF THE MET GALA 2022

 

The Met Gala, otherwise known as the first Monday of May, has returned once again! After being canceled in 2020 and held in September last year, the sumptuous event returns this year to its usual time. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the celebrities of the A-list are ARRIVTE on the red carpet to celebrate the new museum exhibition, in America: an Anthology of Fashion, which will serve as an exploration of American fashion. The exhibition will be presented in 13 rooms inside the museum, and will present design works signed by Bill Blass, Brooks Brothers, Lloyd Kiva New and many others.

Emily in Paris was back  on December 22, 2021 and fans were ready to welcome the second part of the popular Netflix series focusing on Emily Cooper’s adventures (aka Lily Collins). Emily is an American marketing expert who starts a new life in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. The series has been criticized for its dull and stereotypical portrayal of the French and their dressing style, but, at the same time, it has enthralled legions of fans. Especially thanks to the costumes: colourful, lively, irreverent and obviously very branded. In the second season, Emily amazes us with new, even more daring looks. Everybody as a child dreams about their future jobs. For example,  I dreamed up about becoming a model, since I love fashion and its glamour,  but  Can everybody do ethis job? I’m not talking about being tall, slim and beautiful (which is not my case …sad story). I’m talking about discriminations!

In December  Victoria’s Secret, after her fashion show called ”the angels show”, was accused of racism because the brand announced that in their fashion shows they  only wanted “real and beautiful women”. That  means “NO TRANS AND NO CURVY MODELS”

Before becoming  BadGalRiri, Rihanna was a Barbadian girl. Her rebellious behaviour was probably the result of a hard childhood, characterized by her father's cocaine addiction and bullying. Can you believe she was  teased for her too light skin colour? Rihanna has always had a passion for music. In her adolescence, she formed a trio with her friends. At the age of 16, she moved to America to follow her dream  to become a singer.

MILAN FASHION WEEK

MFW took place in Milan between the 19^th and 25^th of September. For those who don’t know how fashion shows work I’m gonna tell you that were presented just SS’019 (Spring/Summer 2019) collections. So if you were interested in autumn or winter clothes you’re late because for those collections there was another MFW previously, in February.

Yesterday, while I was buying two tickets for a live show of Bones - another trap rapper with a very aggressive sound -  I started wondering on what happened to trap and rap music, and when we started loving this sound. (NB: I'm not talking about the lyrics, those have always been rough and violent, for example, some of  Immortal Technique songs were simply too much to handle).
