You’re interested in fashion but you couldn’t see the Milan Fashion Week?!? Well, make sure to read the whole article so as not to miss your second chance to know what happened. If, instead, fashion is not your passion, well … you might learn something new!
MFW took
place in Milan between the 19th and 25th of September.
For those who don’t know how fashion shows work I’m gonna tell you that were
presented just SS’019 (Spring/Summer 2019) collections. So if you were
interested in autumn or winter clothes you’re late because for those
collections there was another MFW previously, in February.
The brands
The
collections were more than 160. Major brands from all over the world were
presenting clothes for the new season and I can proudly say that lots of them
were Italian. Some of them were: Prada, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Fendi,
Gucci but also Dior, Moncler (with the new collection “Genius”), Alberta
Ferretti, Etro... Part of the fashion show was also dedicated to emerging
brands such as Manfredi Manare, Pardo Hats and Fakbyfak.
The guests
During the Fashion
Week a lot of VIPs usually go to Milan and see what’s new about their favourite
brands, so they show up wearing clothes designed by the brand which is
presenting in that moment. It’s very common for them to meet each other and,
when it happens, they take the opportunity to take photos and share them on
Social Networks. For example, we saw American singers Cardi B and Stevie Wonder
at Dolce e Gabbana’s presentation, Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj at Versace’s and
Fendi’s, Cara Delavigne and Italian singer Ghali at Emporio Armani’s…

Curiosities
Change of
ownership
A brand for
haters
Singer
Nicki Minaj actually wasn’t in Milan just for fun. She presented with Renzo
Rosso her own Diesel collection: “Haute Couture”. This name comes from a
play on words which completely changed the meaning from “Haute Couture” to
“Hate Couture”.

CORRADO
Nice post, I like it
ReplyDeleteI mean, I don’t really care about fashion, I usually go for whatever appeals me regardless of the common choices.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess it is also an artistic expression so I feel i should respect it as such
