PARKOUR: ONLY FOR THE BRAVE!

Hello there! This is our first post on LET’S BLOG! so we would like to start from something we are really fascinated by, one of the riskiest sport ever invented: PARKOUR? Have you ever heard anything about it?
Parkour is a very dangerous activity. You have to overcome whichever obstacle with the best efficiensy, speed, and movement semplicity, adapting yourself to the surrounding space, nature or urban, by running, jumping, balance.
As you may have guessed, this is serious business! If you are wondering where Parkour was born and what our favourite stunts are, keep reading!

It was developed in France by Raymond Belle and by his son Daviv Belle during the 1980s. Parkour is practised without equipement of any kind. In a lot of cities parkour is forbidden but in spite of that some people do it anyway,  illegally, of course.
This discipline is not practised to put practitioners in competition, at most it is a challenge with yourself to see if you are able to complete the course without getting hurt.
Parkour arrived in Italy around 2005, developing a lot thanks to the web. In 2017  CONI recognised parkour as an officially discipline, adding it to the sport disciplines list.
To find a good reason to practice it, just think how handy it would come in an emergency or escape situation!
Parkour became even more popular thanks to David Belle's film "District 13" ( 2009 ) where he shows some of the basic movements like:

-Monkey, a basic vault where the traceur, put an hand on the obstacle and with a jump overcome it with the legs

-Cat leap, a position, often precedes by a jump, where you grab on the top of a wall with both hands, and at least with one of the feet, on the surface.

We are fond of parkour since the first time we tried to practise it with  our friends. You need a very hard training that makes you able to overcome your limits.
Parkour is a really exciting but dangerous sport. If you do it the right way,  avoiding overdoing and being very, very careful, it is a great discipline which gives you the chance to enhance your self-confidence.
What do you think? Do you like extreme sports? Would you dare trying parkour? Tell us what you think in the comments!

  5. I actually don't like parkour and such extreme sports. To be honest I prefer using staircases in order to come back home safe and sound. Anyway you wrote a very interesting post because I didn't know most of the things you wrote about.

  7. Great debut lads!
This discipline fascinates me but to be honest I could never do that! It might be useful if you're chased by someone: it would be very classy to run away, don't you think?
