IDENTITY V

Hi guys and welcome back to our blog! Today I’d like to talk about a very beautiful game or, at least, I game I love.  It’s Identity V (identity five), an asymmetrical horror online game developed, originally, for computer but after, developed also for smartphone and tablet. it’s made by NetEase, a leading provider of self‐developed PC‐client and mobile games to worldwide users of Chinese origin.

This game is styled gothic art style like the cartoon “Coraline” by Tim Burton, which I personally really like since that makes it very macabre and mysterious. It has a mysterious storyline. The game starts with a detective (you!) who receives a mysterious letter inviting him to investigate an abandoned manor and search for a missing girl. And as you get closer and closer to the truth, you find something horrifying...

You can play as survivor or as hunter. The purpose changes depending on the role you decide to play. If you play as a survivor, you have to team up with 3 other players. And what do you have to do? You have to decrypt five cipher machines to obtain the password to open the exit gate. Pay attention, don’t let the hunter take you or you’ll be out of the game. Your purpose if you play this role is to eliminate all survivors, or at least three, to win.

The sensational thing about this game is that some characters are inspired by characters who really existed! An example is “The Violinist” called Antonio Paganini, inspired to the most virtuoso violinist in history,  Niccolò Paganini! Or “The Ripper” called Jack inspired to the famous serial killer Jack the Ripper. Another is “Bloody Queen” called Mary inspired to Bloody Mary, that is Mary I of England.

I hope I’ve intrigued you and, if you download it and play it, please leave your opinion in the comments!
