SHAWN MENDES, WONDER

 

 

After two years of waiting, on December 4th Shawn Mendes released his fourth album, Wonder, which is named after the first single.

On the occasion of the album's release, Shawn posted a letter on instagram in which he expressed what "Wonder" means to him, writing that it taught him freedom and how to surrender to the magic of art.

The album includes several beautiful songs but my best  favourite is just Wonder, whose video is also amazing, it looks like a short movie.

Wonder is the lead single of the album and it is described as  emblematic of Shawn’s profound state of contemplation, with references to his newly found love relationship with Camila Cabello.

In this song Shawn asked himself a series of questions like "Do I speak my truth or do I filter how I feel?" but the one that resonates frequently is referred to love and it's "I wonder what it's like to be loved by you".

The singer defines Wonder as a way of reflecting on his life, as he had not done before, probably because he was afraid of people's judgment; even in the video we can find this concept, in fact, at first he is on a train, probably running away, then running into the woods and arriving at a cliff, where he stops and let his emotions and feelings go.
