EUROVISION 2021: ITALY WON!

The Eurovision Song Contest is a music competition held annually, traditionally in May, between many of the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. The competition has been broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1956 and is one of the longest-running television programs in the world. Consisting of two elimination semifinals and a grand final, the singing contest annually proclaims a winner on live television and streaming. Hosting the event each year is the nation that won the previous year. For Italy, the winning song of the Sanremo Festival participates.

In 2019 the winning nation was the Netherlands, then in 2020 it was not broadcast due to the pandemic, but  this year the festival was finally held in Rotterdam. 39 nations participated, including England, Germany and Switzerland.

This year Italy reached the podium with Maneskin, France with Barbara Pravi and Switzerland with Gjon's Tears. In the end, the first classified were just our band, the Maneskin, therefore next year the festival will be held in Italy!

I watched the festival this year  and the songs that I particularly liked the most are:

1 -      ZITTI E BUONI by MANESKIN - ITALY

2-      GROWING UP IS GETTING OLD by VICTORIA - BULGARIA

3-       EMBERS by JAMES NEWMAN – UNITED KINGDOM

4-       VOICES of TUSSE - SWEDEN

Have you seen the Eurovision Song Contest? What are your favourite songs?
