WHO IS OLIVIA MEARS?

Olivia Mears is an American woman who at the age of 26 decided to turn her passion into a real job. She creates dreamy dresses, beautiful clothes, reproduces characters that are not often seen and even invents them. Thanks to her inventiveness she has become viral on the web.

WHAT DOES SHE DO? 

She creates particular clothes, but above all with unusual materials that are beautiful to look at and, sometimes,  you even want to eat them! Her most famous creations are her pizza-shaped prom dresses, decorated with small details, with all her favorite condiments, and the dress she made for taco bell. She is a food lover and wants everyone to know this!!!

Another one of her strange but extraordinary creations is the first wedding dress entirely made of toilet paper. You can't even imagine the time it took to be completed, but the result was fabulous.

WHAT ARE HER LATEST CREATIONS?

Lately she is dedicating herself to recycling, and she is making her latest creations with wrapping paper. With torn gift wrap she creates princess dresses, which can make one think of  the Disney princesses. With this new method she also creates themed dresses. For example,  for Christmas, she created a dress with al lot of paper decorations.

She explained that these dresses are made entirely of paper without using other materials. In fact, there are no additional closures, buttons or fabrics. Only the petticoat is made of fabric to allow the wearer to feel more comfortable.

ARE SOCIAL MEDIA IMPORTANT FOR OLIVIA?

Her creations have become famous thanks to social media. Olivia has an account on Instagram and on other social networks where she keeps her fans updated about the things she does. Once a week she publishes on Instagram videos on how to make costumes, and divides them into episodes. Last month she showed her followers how to make a Spongebob Squarepants costume.

Then she also has a Youtube channel where she posts videos of her cosplayers and it is precisely thanks to Youtube that her creations have become famous.

She also has a blog where she shows her work, explains how she started making clothes and enters the events in which she participates. This blog is called “AVANT GEEK” !!!

SHE BECAME A WORLD STAR!

Slowly she has become more and more famous. This year she designed clothes for the stars that participated at the MTV Music Awards and is approaching the world of fashion. She has become a judge for one day at the “Singapore Cosplay World Championship”. Recently she has travelled the world and took part in conventions and fashion shows where she showed her projects and explained them and made people fall in love more and more with her creations!
