COACHELLA, FIVE ICONIC MOMENTS OF THE 2022 FESTIVAL

 

Every spring, music lovers, pop stars and a group of influencers flock to the Californian desert for one of the most famous music festivals in the world: Coachella.

As one of the first music festivals of the season, Coachella was blown away by COVID for two consecutive years.

But this year the festival most loved by those who love to take cute photos and to listen to music in a fantastic and welcoming place is back with a formidable line-up.

Among the best known international names  Harry Styles, BillieEilish, the Swedish House Mafia, Mika, Justin Bieber, the Weekend, Megan Thee Stallion, Karol G, Doja Cat, Stromae,  Maneskin and many more.

The 2022 edition of Coachella has just ended. The festival has taken place in Indio, California,  for two consecutive weekends for more than 20 years, where many national and international artists alternate. 

Here are five of the moments that we will remember from the two weekends in April this year.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles, Friday headliner of the festival: incredible! For his first performance, on Friday 15 April, he was joined by Shania Twain, while on 22 April the explosive Lizzo arrived! A performance that saw them sing together "I will survive" and "What makes you beautiful", a song by One Direction, which Harry Styles knows very well given the years spent in the group. Styles opened the show with "As it was", his latest single, and also sang new songs, including "Boyfriend", along with his band.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish, headliner on Saturday: together with her Damon Albarn, Khalid and Hayley Williams of Paramore, in addition to the inevitable brother Finneas, who also performed in one of her concerts, but on Saturdays. A concert in which the young artist, just 20 years old and the youngest headliner in the history of the Coachella Festival, brought almost all of her hits: from "Bad Guy" to "Ocean Eyes", but also many songs from her latest her album. Everyone present in raptures, who saw a Billie raised as an artist.

 Justin Bieber

How can we forget the strictly surprise performance of Justin Bieber and his "Peaches"? The singer arrived unannounced on the Main Stage on Friday, April 15, where his friend Daniel Caesar was performing, and sang his success. A surprise that the audience, also waiting for the Harry Styles concert, appreciated very much.

 Mika

It was hot, very hot, but Mika was not intimidated by the temperatures of the desert and did one, or rather two,  perfect performances: on stage at 3.40 pm, the artist made everyone present sing and dance, especially with his hits "Grace Kelly" and "Relax, take it easy" (and many more).

Maneskin

The 2022 edition of the Coachella Festival is to be remembered above all for the participation of the Maneskin: Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan performed on Sunday 17 and 24 April, in a Mojave tent crowded with people who sang and danced non-stop throughout the duration of their performance. The first Italian group to perform in such an important and beloved festival by overseas fans, Maneskin have truly left their mark and are ready to fly around the world with their "Loud Kids Tour".
