THE RED CARPET OF THE MET GALA 2022

The Met Gala, otherwise known as the first Monday of May, has returned once again! After being canceled in 2020 and held in September last year, the sumptuous event returns this year to its usual time. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the celebrities of the A-list are ARRIVTE on the red carpet to celebrate the new museum exhibition, in America: an Anthology of Fashion, which will serve as an exploration of American fashion. The exhibition will be presented in 13 rooms inside the museum, and will present design works signed by Bill Blass, Brooks Brothers, Lloyd Kiva New and many others.

The stars, fully dressed, paraded on the red carpet giving their interpretation of the dress code established for this year, Gilded Glamor and White Tie, a theme that clearly invites to tell the fashion of the end of the 19th century through a personal key and modern. Since the great event is one of the most photographed in the world, the many guests, among actresses and models, singers and invited stylists have brought fabulous custom made on the Re dCarpet Mise. After all, the Met Gala has a long history of creating memorable clothes that remained in history and therefore the expectations were very high.

Among the official hosts this year we had  Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Queen King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Here are the look I preferred

Blake Lively

Since the actress was the host of the evening, it was clear that she would be seriously dressed up. And in fact, his Atelier Versace's dress-transformer, inspired by the statue of freedom, in the middle of the catwalk went surprisingly from  bronze to celestial. No strange mechanism: two assistants dismantled and reassembled the skirt, also changing the gloves, all on the staircase, on sight. The enthusiasm aroused by the stunt makes it clear how great the desire to amaze in an evening like this is.

Alessandro Michele and Jared Leto

The creative director of Gucci and the actor-singer are close friends and above all they almost look like they are twin brothers. They made justice to two absolute icons of cinema: the twins of The Shining. If not in style, certainly in the spirit.

Billie Eilish

One of the most faithful to the theme of the evening, as well as one of her best executions, thanks to Gucci. The singer seems to come out of a painting by John Singer Sargent (image below), but she does not appear exaggerated. The outfit is undoubtedly my favorite in colours and style.

Emily Ratatjkowski

This models that have taken several supermodels to focus on the vintage is truly intriguing. The model and influencer chose her dress in an Atelier Versace Vintage in 1992. On the catwalk the look had been worn by Yasmeen Ghauri, who remains unreachable, but Emily is still fantastic.

Kim Kardashian

If Kim's dress seems familiar to you, it is because it is a Jean Louis worn by Marilyn Monroe on May 19, 1962  when she sang "Happy Birthday , Mr. President" to John Kennedy.

Warning: it's not a reproduction, it's the same dress. The star has lost more than 8 kilos to be able to enter it, since - of course - it could not be altered in any way; for a good extent her hair has also been platinated. As for the history of American fashion, the theme to which the exhibition is dedicated, there is no discussion: it was the best.
