Hi guys, today I'd like to talk to you about Eurovision, the 2022 edition was amazing, have you seen it? This year we were the host country here in Italy and the show was broadcast internationally from Turin.
The Eurovision Song Contest is an international music festival which started in Lugano in 1956 and is organized annually by members of the European Union. It was broadcast continuously until 2020, when it was paused due to the pandemic.
It is the longest running festival ever and the most followed non-sporting event.
Italy has also triumphed several times, in 1964 with Gigliola Cinquetti's "Non ho l'età", in 1990 with "Insieme" sung by Toto Cutugno, and in the 2021edition with the world hit "Zitti e Buoni" by The Maneskins.

Did you know that in the latest edition we had 4 Italian singers participating in the Eurovision Song Festival? They were Blanco and Mahmood, the winners of the latest Sanremo Festival with their song Brividi, but also Achille Lauro, who participated for the San Marino Republic, as well as Emma Muscat, who was born in Malta, but who is now a popular model and singer living and working in Italy for several years.

The winner was Ukraine with the song "Stefania", performed by Kalush Orchestra and written by the group's members Ihor Didenchuk, Ivan Klimenko, Oleh Psiuk, Tymofii Muzychuk and Vitalii Duzhyk. Ukraine's 439 points received from the televote in the final are the most televoting points received in the contest's history to date and made "Stefania" the first song with hip-hop elements to win the contest. Of course, their win was influenced by the great sense of closeness and solidarity that the rest of Europe wanted to show to the Ukrainian population, who has been living the hell of war since 24th February, when Putin's army invaded their country.
