Sadlly, North Korea isn’t famous for its beautiful landscapes and architecture, but for its infamous regime. North Korea, or D.P.R.K (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) is anything but democratic. It is considered the most dangerous country in the world and also the most impenetrable one. I saw several videos about North Korea and all of them they highlight the strict rules they have about everything from their dressing code, to their hair style, and even about their behaviour before the portraits of the leaders, which are spread all over the country.
For example, it is prohibited to take photos in which the whole leaders’ bodies aren’t in the picture. You can be arrested, only for something like that. The supreme leader, Kim Jong Un, stated that they accept all religions, but that’s not true. The only “religion” they accept and impose is their ideology , JUCHE: the leader is god. Furthermore, it is the only Necrocracy in the world. Dead leaders Kim il sung and Kim Jong il still have a political role. These are only a few pieces of information about this country, but I want to tell you more in one of my future articles.
How to escape?
To enter in D.P.R.K you have
to call an agency that is in contact with the Korean government and it is the
government to decide the tourist programs, what you can see and what you can’t see. But if someone wants
to leave the country as a migrant or to
definitely escape from D.P.R.K? North Korea borders with South Korea, with
China and Russia. There are a few chances. If someone wants to escape and earn money to
send it to their families, they can overcome the border asking for hospitality
to Christian churches in China. But the Chinese government prohibits help to Koreans
who leave their country. Once discovered by the Chinese government they are
sent back.
There are brokers who help people to escape.
These brokers, usually one in China and the other one in North Korea, (with
special permissions), organize the crossing of the rivers that constitute the
northern border, and they give the fugitives fake documents. Once the Koreans
are free they still have to defend themselves from the Chinese government whoc can
recognize them (also for their small body caused by bad nutrition) and repatriate
them. The best solution for Koreans is to go to a country different from China,
especially South Korea, because here escapees receive education and also help
to find a house and a job.
They can also go to countries like Laos or Vietnam and decide to live there or to move to South Korea. This is the best solution but, certainly, not an easy one. The fake documents are very expensive and South Korea is a very modern and chaotic country, so different from North Korea so it’s difficult for them to settle in it.
It’s impossible to overcome
the Southern border because it is constituted by the DMZ: the Demilitarized
Zone. It is the most dangerous border in the world.
Another solution is to
overcome the Russian border and find a job in Russia, but Koreans here are treated
as slaves. So the best solution, perhaps, is to escape
helped by a broker to obtain fake documents and move to other countries s
refugees.
I really hope these people can
find a solution in the future, but the frightening thing is that North Korean
population is said to be happy to live in their country. Can that be true?
