As young people, we are often asked the question: what would you like to be? Actually, we started being asked since we were children. In childhood we reacted thinking about our dream job and figuring out the most unlikely future careers. But, growing up, things change and you start seriously wondering about your future and about your place in this world.
There are guys who make their choices very soon in life and are focused and truly motivated, but many young people are just confused and don’t really know what the best choice is for themselves. And is it fair to ask teenagers about their future right now?
Many teens might get anxious trying to find an answer to the question and they need help in order to figure one out. I have something useful right for them: here are 5 questions that they could ask themselves and that will help understand what is best for them.
1- What are the things that make you happy?
2-
What would you really like
to do without considering the consequent issues that choice may bring?
3-
What would you do if it were
your last day?
4- Who do you inspire to as a
model? Who do you admire for their achievements? Who do you want to resemble?
5- What would you be willing to do to get to your goal?
Would you be able to answer
the questions above?
I know it seems a joke to ask
you to answer a question asking you other questions, but only thanks to the
questions we ask ourselves, we are able to find the answers we look for.
If you haven’t understood it yet, I’ll be more direct: you need to look deeper into yourself. And, even if you come to make the wrong decision, you’ll always have time to change your mind. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!
Instead, if you are a person who lives in the moment and is not used to making long-term plans, well, what is important is that you find a goal to pursue, something that motivates you to go on even in the darkest moments, ready to overcome any obstacle.
And, if a person asked you what
you want to be when you grow up, right now and you feel not ready, you may always answer: “I want to be myself!” And, then, go on thinking about it!
