BLACK LIVES MATTER

On May 25, Minneapolis police officers arrested George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, after he was accused of buying cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill. 20 minutes after the first squad car arrived at the scene, Mr. Floyd was unconscious and pinned beneath three police officers, showing no signs of life.

The police officer, Derek Chauvin, pushed his knee on George Floyd’s neck and after about 8 minutes he died…

Immediately a very big group of people began to protest in a peaceful way against these abuse of violence from police officers.

SINGING IN QUARANTINE

We've been in lockdown for weeks and still now we can go out only for very good reasons.   I know, it has been tough, it is tough!  Sometimes,  it’s very difficult because we want to break the rules and just go out,  but we can’t. At least, for a little while longer. You know,  I usually listen to music to cheer myself up and I thought I could share some of my favourite songs with you once more.

This is the case of Jazz Jennings a young transsexual woman.

I’m going to use only female pronouns even when telling you about when she was a biologiacal man because in my opinion you can be whatever you feel even if it doesn’t match the gender you were born!!!

She was born on the 6th of October 2000 in south Florida and when she was about five years old she already knew she was a girl and not a boy so she told  her family that she was a transgender girl and luckily they always supported her. We all know that families do not always accept and support that kind of things but fortunately she was born in a family with open-minded opinions and that’s very rare for a Florida family, because that’s a state known to be a conservative one.

Do you remember the Coachella festival? It was at the end of April and during that period many things happened. Among them, a row between two friends who are also two very popular make-up gurus. Was their quarrel real or staged? Read on and make up your mind. 

James Charles and Tati, a friend of his, had a terrible row during the Festival. James Charles is a popular 19-year-old make – up guru in the world, with more than 16 million YouTube followers. Tati is also a make-up guru, she runs a vitamin factory, hair vitamin for hair.

She decided to have a row with James for many reasons, as she explained in a 42- minute video posted on her YouTube channel. The main one is that James has never wanted to sponsor her hair vitamin and during the Coachella he sponsored other hair vitamins. So she felt disappointed and betrayed by her friend.

SANREMO, ITALIAN MUSIC SHOWCASED IN EUROVISION

Do you like Italian music? Have you ever heard of Sanremo? If you have never seen it, you’ve missed the chance to see the most important Italian song contest,  which is also very popular all around the world. Sanremo takes place in the beautiful town of the same name situated in the north of Italy,  in Liguria.  Every year I can’t  wait for it to start,   because I’m a great fan and I’m always very excited to listen to new songs.

2019? IT'S BEEN A GREAT START AT THE CINEMA

Hello I’m back!!!  How are you ? How did you start the new year?

January, the first month of the year,  was great. I had been waiting for it for five different reasons and I’m here to share them with you.

The first reason was my own birthday! I was born on 7th January and I was so happy to celebrate it with my friends! We had great fun.

When I was seven years old my family and I went to Egypt!  Incredibly enough, I have  very cool memories of it!

I remember, while we were going to St. Catherine's monastery.  I saw the desert and I was amazed.  I especially love this memory because I still remember the many different colours of the sand: black, red, blue,green and brown. I would have never expected the sand to have so many shades and colours.

Since I was younger I've always been interested in rocks and minerals. 4 years ago I went to London and I visited the Natural History Museum where I bought an amazing book on minerals and rocks. Thanks to it I’ve learnt a lot about minerals and, today, I'm going to share with you  what my three favourite ones are.
