HOLLYWOOD & BEYOND: EMMA WATSON

Born in 1990,  Emma Watson reached world fame thanks to the Harry Potter saga, playing the character of Hermione Granger, from 2001 to 2011. She also starred in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Noah, Colonia. 

She is also a green fashion designer and has created an ecological collection of only of organic fiber clothing.

In July of 2014 Emma Watson was appointed Goodwill Ambassador, ambassador of good will from the section of the United Nations that deals with gender equality in the world. Emma Watson has also become one of the faces of the “He For She” UN campaign, to break down the gender differences and violence against women. In September of 2014 she spoke at the United Nations headquarters in New York to launch this campaign.

“I was appointed six months ago and the more I have spoken about feminism the more I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.
For the record, feminism by definition is: “The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes.”

Recently, Emma Watson visited Malawi to shine a global spotlight on the need to end child marriage. Emma met with Senior Chief Kachindamoto a prominent champion in the fight to stop child marriage. She also met with girls who have returned to school after having their marriages annulled.


But can you be a little over a quarter of a century, the model for a whole generation, an actress of international fame and a socially committed woman? Apparently you can, if your name is Emma Watson! That's why Emma  is a strong and tenacious model for all her fans around the world.

But do you know everything about the heroine of the wizarding world? Here are 10 facts about Emma Watson!!!

1. She auditioned eight times for the role of Hermione Granger but J.K. Rowling wanted Emma from her first screen test.

2.  At the age of 12, she had a crush on her Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy. She said she found him cute because he was a few years older, a bit of a bad boy, and had a skateboard.


3.   Emma is a cat lover. She has two cats named Bubbles and Domino.

4. In her classroom, when she responded to an answer correctly, her classmate yelled: “10 points to Gryffindor”



5.  One of her favorite actors is Johnny Depp, she is a huge fan of Julia Roberts, her favorite movie is Notting Hill, her favorite tv-series is "Friends". Her favourite author is Carlos Ruis Zafon and she loved "The Shadow of the Wind"

6.   She is a yoga instructor


7.   She enrolled at Brown University in 2009, where she studied Literature

8. She is best friends with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint after practically growing up with them on the Harry Potter set. She calls them her 'brothers'.


9.  Emma: "I love fashion. I think it's so important, because it's how you show yourself to the world" so when she was 15, she was the youngest person to be featured on Teen Vogue Magazine.

10.  She almost didn't stay to finish the Harry Potter series.

  15. I love Emma Watson, she has been one of my favourite actress since I was 10! I saw all of her movies except Regression because it's not my genre of film... I think she is an intelligent and talented woman. I'm so proud of her!!
