A HERO OF MUSIC: ED SHEERAN

He turned 26 just a few days ago (17th February) and celebrated it gifting his fans with a new wonderful ballad: How Would You FeelOur staff particularly love Ed Sheeran,  this is why you can find a few posts dedicated to him on Let's Blog: we sang one of his songs at school  or we celebrated the release of his latest new songs
This new post is to tell you something more about our red-haired, super talented hero: his background, some curious facts and our top five hits.

Ed Sheeran was born in February 1991 in Halifax, England. He began playing the guitar at a young age and soon after started writing his own songs. When he was just a teenager, he moved to London to pursue his dream in music. It wasn’t immediate success, he even lived rough and performed in the streets but persisting he succeeded and then, finally, he got to his glory. Since signing with Atlantic, Sheeran has sold millions of records, had a song in the soundtrack  in the second installment of The Hobbit trilogy, won a Grammy for Song of the year with Thinking Out Loud and more.

Some curious facts about Ed Sheeran? No problem, here’s to you 5 fun facts:

1) His love for music began at a very young age, singing in the church choir at the age of 4. He learned how to play the guitar at a young age as well.

2)Taylor Swift contacted Sheeran after hearing his music while touring Australia in March 2012. He later co-wrote and provided vocals for "Everything Has Changed", a single featured on Swift's fourth album Red. Released in October 2012, it was the biggest-selling new album of 2012 and was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

3)Sheeran got a Red tattoo to mark the career opportunity and remarked, "I think Taylor's just opening up a lot of doors and it's up to me to make sure that I get through to them. It's a massive opportunity for me and I want to make sure to grab it with both hands."

4)His favorite rapper is Eminem and has said he would love to meet him one day.

5)Elton John is a massive Ed Sheeran fan - they dueted at the Grammy Awards.

We love Ed Sheeran’s songs so we decided to make a top 5 hits:

THINKING OUT LOUD

And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

PHOTOGRAPH

Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

LEGO HOUSE

And it's dark in a cold December, but I've got ya to keep me warm
And if you're broken I'll mend ya
And keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on now

GIVE ME LOVE

Give me love like never before
'Cause lately I've been craving more
And it's been a while but I still feel the same
Maybe I should let you go

  2. How does it come your top 5 has only got 4 titles? It's because we can pick up a title to add? I'd choose The A-Team, then. That's one of my best favourites.
